Local businessman Syed Ahmed has been selected as the Conservative candidate in the forthcoming by-election in Marine Ward.
A Worthing resident for over 20 years, Syed has built his business in the borough and has won local and national attention for his charity work.
Syed said "It is a huge honour to have been selected to fight this important by-election and I am delighted to be standing up for the inclusive and diverse values that are at the heart of the Conservative party"
Working with the local MPs, Syed has donated over 400 meals to frontline NHS workers during the pandemic, turning the kitchen at his popular Shaan Restaurant on Tarring Road into a community kitchen, ensuring our local NHS heroes had a hot meal waiting for them at the end of their shifts.
Family man Syed has raised his family in Worthing and is keen to see the borough thrive, his priorities if elected include commitments on the environment, sustainable development, improved tourism and leisure facilities and working hard to keep Council Tax low.
Syed and his team will be meeting residents over the coming weeks and he is looking forward to hundreds of doorstep conversations discussing your priorities for modern and progressive representation on Worthing Borough Council.
