Cllr Russ Cochran is our second new WBC Councillor. He joins Cllr. Sean McDonald representing Northbrook Ward.
Russ said:
"Following such a hard campaign I was delighted to have a 51% vote share and be elected as Borough Councillor for Northbrook alongside Sean McDonald.
We have had much to address straight out of the blocks post-election and I was very happy to get stuck in straight away. The council training provided has really been helpful and will be very much beneficial for me to hone my skills for the tasks ahead.
I attended the first Full Council meeting of the year and have yet to take up any of my committee appointments due to the schedules they run on the calendar of meetings.
Looking forwards to the Full Council meeting next month in the chamber and applying myself for the good of the town and in my ward.
I am enjoying embracing civic duties and have already begun to address so much, some of which you can see for yourself on my Facebook page as there is too much to list here!
Highlights have been: Attending the re-opening of our fantastic Highdown Gardens and visiting businesses opening up after the lockdown. The real treat was having my mum attend on polling day and vote! The pride involved there speaks for itself!"
